2nd Taishan Animation Festival 2024: A Cultural and Tourism Consumption Scene
The 2nd Taishan Animation Festival 2024 was recently held in Taishan District, Tai’an City, Shandong Province. The event included brand exhibitions, intangible cultural heritage performances, cultural and creative exhibitions, interactive experiences, animation performances, etc., attracting a total of about 549,600 tourists and animation enthusiasts, and boosting local consumption by more than 22.7 million yuan.
This animation festival is supported by Tai’an Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and Tai’an Taishan District People’s Government, and hosted by China Animation Group Co., Ltd. It uses festivals to promote consumption and create a new “animation +” cultural and tourism consumption scene. It has carried out seven major sections and more than 40 activities, including an immersive digital cultural center, an excellent animation and game brand exhibition, Taishan District Cultural Tourism and Cultural Creative Achievement Exhibition, “The Republic Will Not Forget” Comic Art Tour, a two-dimensional city carnival, an animation parade and “Chinese Animation Talks about Taishan” Animation Promotion Salon for Urban Development.
The animation IP images “Taishan Boy” and “Taishan Dani” use Taishan culture as a carrier, integrate the spiritual connotation of “Taishan Stone”, and interact enthusiastically with the audience during the event; the first VR immersive experience of “Classic of Mountains and Seas” in China allows tourists to embark on a fantastic mythological journey in the digital world; the “Republic Will Not Forget” comic art tour, through on-site borrowing, digital experience, lecture exchanges, evokes readers’ childhood memories; Taishan Metal Weaving Art, Encountering Stones, Yizhi Cultural and Creative and other cultural and creative products, integrate intangible cultural heritage with games and animation themes. The 2024 “Happy Spring Festival” mascot ”Auspicious Dragon” organized and designed and developed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism also appeared at the China Animation Group booth, attracting many tourists to stop and check in.
Shi Ziwen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Animation Group, said that this year’s Taishan Animation Festival adheres to the right principles and innovates, striving to present the three characteristics of “integration of culture and tourism, animation benchmark; innovative applications, digital empowerment; national festival, cultural feast.”
Feng Nengbin, deputy mayor of Tai’an, believes that the deep integration of the long-standing and profound Mount Tai culture with the fashionable and trendy animation culture can further enhance the influence and dissemination of Mount Tai culture and build Tai’an into a leading place for animation culture and a new highland for the development of animation and cultural and creative industries.
Zhou Pengfei, deputy secretary of the Taishan District Committee and district mayor, said that Taishan District will continue to take this as an opportunity to continuously utilize its rich resources and promote the development of animation-enabled cultural tourism and surrounding industries.
