British Tourist Dies in Jamaica Scooter Accident During Anniversary Trip

Lisa Ball, 53, from Keighley, West Yorkshire, died in a tragic motorbike accident while vacationing in
Jamaica. The incident occurred on May 19 around 7:40 p.m. near Montego Bay as she and her partner, Anthony
Hurt, celebrated their anniversary.
According to witnesses,a pick-up truck emerged from a restaurant parking lot and collided with the Honda
scooter they had rented. Ball was thrown more than 60 feet. Hurt sustained minor injuries, but Ball suffered
fatal head trauma.

Kacia Campbell-Jones, an eyewitness, described the scene and noted the accident happened during the couple’s
anniversary and Ball’s birthday party. Ball was reportedly staying at a resort near Lucea.
Jamaican police have taken the truck driver into custody for questioning. The Foreign, Commonwealth and
Progress Office is providing support to Ball’s family.
Ball’s daughter, Chloe Watson, posted a heartfelt message on social media, expressing her love for her mother,
who was also a grandmother to Olivia, Daisy, Lyla, Lillie, and Madelyn. Close friend Fiona Ward mourned the
loss, saying the couple was having “the best time” before the accident.
