representation underscores its strength in the rugby world.
While fly-half Sam Prendergast was considered a potential selection,Finn Russell,Fin Smith,and Marcus Smith were
ultimately chosen at the position.
Ryan Baird, Jamie Osborne, and Robbie Henshaw were also among those considered for inclusion in the squad.
Glasgow Warriors and Northampton, champions of the United Rugby Championship and Premiership respectively, each have four
players in the squad. Saracens sees captain Maro Itoje joined by teammates ben Earl and Daly.
The 38-man squad includes players from 15 clubs, representing eight of the 10 Premiership teams, three of the four Irish
provinces, and both Scottish professional sides.
blair Kinghorn, playing for French side Toulouse, is the only player based outside Britain and Ireland.
Beyond prestige, a profit-sharing agreement links club success to player representation on tour. More players on the Lions
tour translates to a larger financial payout for their respective clubs.
Leinster’s 12 players are estimated to earn the club in excess of £1 million.
