Junko’s Descent Into Isolation on Xbox and PC
BrokenLore: Don’t Lie is now available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. It marks a new standalone chapter in the expanding horror universe created by Serafini Productions.
The game centers on a young hikikomori named Junko. Her social isolation and unresolved trauma warp her perception of reality as familiar environments turn into eerie manifestations of her past.
The title follows BrokenLore: Don’t Watch, while keeping each entry designed to stand alone. Sebastiano Serafini, CEO and Founder of Serafini Productions, introduced the project, noting the team behind the BrokenLore universe. The studio builds these titles as interconnected stories with support from Wired Productions and Shochiku, aiming to explore different social issues through a horror lens.
Horror as Social Commentary on AI Companions
Rather than treating scares as an end in themselves, the studio uses horror as a delivery system for deeper social commentary. This specific chapter touches on people’s growing reliance on artificial intelligence companions for personal advice and emotional support.
Navigating Confined Spaces and Unseen Threats
Junko’s journey takes her through confined spaces inside her apartment and distorted liminal zones. Players piece together clues by searching files and reading messages while avoiding an unseen presence that tracks the character’s behavior. This slow-burn psychological setup relies heavily on environmental storytelling and pacing rather than combat.
Long-Term Narrative Scope and Platform Availability
For narrative designers and horror development teams, the game offers a distinct study in building tension through space and unreliable perception. The overarching BrokenLore project is structured as a long-term narrative effort, though the studio has not yet detailed the exact scope of future updates or subsequent chapters.

The release brings the psychological horror format directly to Microsoft’s current-generation consoles and personal computers. Players looking for narrative-driven experiences focused on atmospheric tension and thematic storytelling can now pick up the title across supported platforms.
