On the 18th, KBL released the results of the 2023-2024 Jeong Kwan-Jang Professional Basketball All-Star fan vote. All-Star fan voting was held for 22 days between November 27th and December 18th.
The best star was Heo Woong. Heo Woong came first in All-Star fan voting for the fifth time in his career, receiving 166,616 votes out of a total of 339,206. It has also come first for the last three years in a row. The longest record is KCC coach Lee Sang-min’s 1st place for 9 consecutive years.
Heo Woong’s younger brother Heo Hoon came second with 141,655 votes.
Lee Jeong-hyeon (Sono) came 3rd with 128,436 votes, Choi Jun-yong (KCC) 4th with 104,600 votes, and Song Kyo-chang (KCC) 5th with 102,095 votes. KCC swept the top positions, including Heo Woong’s 1st place, Choi Jun-yong’s 4th place, and Song Kyo-chang’s 5th place.
Among rookies, Yoo Sang-sang (LG) ranked 12th with 89,899 votes and was the only one included on the 24-member All-Star list. Jamil Warney (SK) came in 21st with 80,464 votes, and Didrick Lawson (DB) came in 23rd with 79,256 votes, earning the honor of being selected as an All-Star for the first time. LG produced the most All-Stars, including Yoo Sang-sang, Yang Hong-seok (11th), Lee Jae-do (16th), and Lee Kwan-hee (20th).
In this All-Star Game, DB coach Kim Joo-sung, ranked 1st in the regular league, and LG coach Cho Sang-hyun, ranked second, will lead both teams, and players will be selected directly through the draft.
Meanwhile, KBL banned from counting votes that were confirmed to be fraudulent votes among All-Star fan votes. Out of a total of 363,295 votes, 24,089 were invalidated. KBL intends to strengthen inspections such as monitoring to prevent similar cases from happening again.
