After stopping the⁢ machine to move a log, Payne slipped while exiting the⁣ cab. His foot landed on the foot control, causing the bucket arm to raise ‍rapidly. The bucket pinned ‍his head, resulting in severe injuries, including ‍a broken neck, a broken jaw, a⁤ severed⁣ ear, adn significant damage to the skin around his left eye.
