Busan Police Agency launches investigation into sexual assault case of former AOA member Kwon Min-ah… “I was hit when I was 14.”

The police launched an investigation after Kwon Min-ah, a former member of the group AOA, claimed that she had been sexually assaulted in the past.

On the 3rd, the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency said, “The Women and Juvenile Crime Investigation Unit is conducting an investigation into the sexual assault case of Kwon Min-ah.”

Earlier, Kwon Min-ah appeared on a YouTube broadcast on the 1st and claimed that she was assaulted and sexually assaulted by a male student when she was in her first year of middle school when she was about 14 years old. In addition, the statute of limitations for the case is 2023, and it was revealed that the investigation is currently underway.

In particular, Kwon Min-ah mentioned the incident in a live broadcast in March. At that time, Kwon Min-ah also drew attention by revealing her real name, explaining that the male victim was “a yangachi famous enough to know just by meeting his name in Busan.”

Recognizing the incident, the police will begin an investigation with Kwon Min-ah’s consent, and will investigate the exact circumstances based on the victim’s testimony. However, as it is a sexual offense-related case, details cannot be disclosed.

Meanwhile, Kwon Min-ah was born in 1993 and is 29 years old this year. He debuted as AOA in 2012 and was active, but withdrew in 2019. Afterwards, last year, member Jimin revealed that he had been harassed for 10 years and was at the center of the controversy. As a result of the revelation, Jimin stopped all activities and left the entertainment industry.
