BYD Launches Electric Cars in Bahrain

Manama: The Chinese company BYD has launched its electric cars in Bahrain through its local partner Fakhru Motors, a sister company of Abdullah Yusuf Fakhru & Sons, the sole agent of BYD in Bahrain.

Trade and Industry Minister Abdullah Adil Fakhru unveiled the new electric vehicles at an event held at the Gulf Hotel, with the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Bahrain Rochi, Embassy Trade Counselor Li Pawan, BYD Company Middle East Director HR Huang, Abdullah Yusuf Fakhru & Sons Company Chairman Isam Abdullah Fakhru, and Fakhru Motors Director Muhammad Adil Fakhru.

The launch included two front-wheel drive models, the ‘Auto Three’ and ‘Han’, both of which have received a five-star safety rating from the European Authority in the new generation car category. A spokesperson for the company emphasized that the vehicles were designed with passenger safety in mind.

This launch comes in the wake of a commitment made by the Fakhru Group to introduce sustainable energy projects following King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s announcement of the ‘Bahrain Blue Print’ at the International Climate Change Summit, aimed at achieving zero carbon emissions. The company aims to contribute to reducing carbon emissions, combating climate change, and creating opportunities in the green economy.

The ‘Bahrain Blue Print’ sets a target to reduce the country’s carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2035, aligning with the company’s sustainability goals.

The United Nations ended in the United Arab Emirates the other day. The Fakhru Group said the new electric cars are coming to the market as a sustainable energy project shortly after King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa announced the ‘Bahrain Blue Print’ to achieve zero carbon emissions at the International Climate Change Summit.

The company claims it can achieve three things: reduce carbon emissions, fight climate change, and create sustainable opportunities for the new green economy. Boo Print aims to reduce Bahrain’s carbon emissions by 30 percent by 2035, a company spokesman said.
