Lynn’s Cadillac Edges BMW in Le Mans Qualifying

Alex Lynn clocked ‌the fastest time in qualifying for the 2025 Le Mans 24 ‍Hours. Driving his Cadillac, Lynn posted a‌ time of 3⁣ minutes, 22.847 seconds.

The evening session, held⁤ in 31 C temperatures,⁣ saw Ferrari initially dominate. Yifei ⁤Ye‌ led early in the⁣ No. 83 car with a time of 3:23.994, outpacing Alessandro Pier ‌Guidi in the No. 51​ entry and Nicklas Nielsen in the No. 50 machine.

Kevin Estre briefly challenged Ferrari’s‍ dominance,⁢ placing second. Pier Guidi then⁢ reclaimed the lead with 3:23.933 before Lynn and Sebastien Bourdais entered the fray ‌with Cadillac V-Series.R LMDhs, clocking in at 3:24.3.

Jack Aitken briefly took the‍ top spot in ‌another Cadillac before Estre reclaimed it with​ 3:23.360. shortly after, Paul-Loup⁤ Chatin spun his Alpine at the Porsche Curves.

With just four minutes remaining, Dries Vanthoor put BMW ⁣in contention with a time of 3:22.887, only to be edged ⁣out by Lynn’s Cadillac.

Antonio Giovinazzi finished third in his Ferrari, followed by Estre ⁢and Bourdais. Rounding out⁢ the top 10 were the No. 50 Ferrari,⁢ no. ⁣5 Porsche,No.20 BMW,⁤ No. 311 Cadillac, and⁢ No. 36 Alpine.

The‌ top 15 cars advanced to Hyperpole, including the No. 8 Toyota, No. 83 Ferrari, No. 101 Cadillac, No. 4 Porsche, and No. 35 alpine.‌ Nyck de Vries ​in the No. 7 Toyota missed‍ the cut, finishing 17th.

Aston Martin and Peugeot did not⁣ make it to Hyperpole. Proton⁣ Competition’s Porsche was also eliminated.

The Hyperpole session will determine the final grid positions for the top contenders in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
