new Jersey – Caitlin Sandra Neil,a 19-year-old from Chennai,India,has been crowned Miss India USA 2024. The annual pageant, organized by the India Festival Committee, saw 47 contestants from 25 states vying for the title in three categories: Miss India USA, Mrs. India USA, and Miss Teen India USA.
Neil, a second-year student at the University of California, Davis, expressed her desire to “leave a positive lasting impact on [her] community and focus on women’s empowerment and literacy.”
Born in Chennai, Neil has called the USA home for the past 14 years. She aspires to be a web designer while also pursuing a career in modeling and acting.
“I want to leave a positive lasting impact on my community and focus on women’s empowerment and literacy,” neil said in a media release.
A Night of Glamour and Celebration
The pageant culminated in a dazzling display of talent, beauty, and cultural pride. Sanskriti Sharma from Illinois was crowned Mrs. India USA, and arshita Kathpalia from Washington took home the title of Miss Teen India USA.
Rijul Maini, Miss India USA 2023, and Sneha Nambiar, Mrs. India USA 2023, had the honor of crowning their successors.
The competition was fierce, with Nirali Desia of Illinois and Manini Patel of New Jersey securing the first and second runner-up positions in the Miss India USA category. In the Mrs.India USA category, Sapna Mishra of Virginia and chinmayee Ayachit from Connecticut were named first and second runner-up, respectively. Dhriti Patel of Rhode Island and Sonali Sharma were declared first and second runner-up in the Miss Teen India USA category.
Neil’s victory marks a meaningful moment for the Indian American community, showcasing the talent and ambition of young women across the nation.
