Cam’ron has stated he is unlikely to ever interview Kanye West due to ongoing discomfort with the content of West’s song “Cousins,” in which the artist describes a childhood sexual experience with a male cousin.
During a recent episode of his podcast “Talk With Flee,” Cam’ron explained that his stance is rooted in personal boundaries rather than opposition to LGBTQ+ identities, saying he takes issue with what he perceives as inconsistent public narratives about sexuality.
He stated, “I don’t really care about what people do in their off-time, but when you wanna just openly admit at 40-something that you’ve been sucking d**k when you was a teenager, I can’t really rock with you,” and added, “’Cause you wanna be gay when you wanna be gay when it’s convenient.”
Cam’ron further elaborated, saying, “I don’t have nothing against gay people, but how you just gonna make yourself gay when s**t ain’t going right?” and emphasized, “Said you was sucking your cousin’s d**k when you was little, and not once, you was randomly sucking his d**k consistently.”
These remarks were met with a response from West, who reportedly sent Cam’ron a private message accusing him of bullying. Cam’ron shared this exchange on his podcast, expressing confusion over the accusation.
He said, “I don’t get that. I hate that,” and questioned, “Somebody comes out and says something. I say something about what they said, and now I’m the bully. […] You’re mad at me?”
Cam’ron maintained that his commentary was a direct response to West’s own public disclosures in the song, not an unprovoked attack, and noted that neither party has indicated efforts to privately resolve the disagreement.
The tension between the two artists adds to a pattern of public friction in recent months, though no reconciliation efforts have been made public.
