According to the National Election Commission, there were a total of 50,681 voters in the runoff election, of whom 33,084 participated in the vote. Voter turnout was 65.28%.

President-elect Lim Hyun-taek (Chungnam National University College of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics) has been serving five consecutive terms as president of the Korean Association of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine since 2016.

President-elect Lim said he would protect the rights and interests of all members, and proposed the following goals: △ normalizing the medical system, including realistic medical fees and establishing a medical delivery system; △ establishing a medical system, including establishing a medical information center and promoting selective division of labor; △ revising the medical license cancellation law, and redefining the role of PAs. .

Highest voter turnout ever, anger expressed by members of the Korean Medical Association

This Korean Medical Association Presidential election recorded the highest voter turnout ever.

On the other hand, in the last election for the 41st Korean Medical Association President, 23,665 people participated, with a voter turnout of only 48.33%.

The reason for the high voter turnout in this presidential election is interpreted to be the expression of anger among the members of the medical association toward blocking the increase in the number of medical schools and the mandatory medical package.
