⁤Driver Flees After Car⁣ Overturns in Ditch, Police ‍Search for Suspect

MIDT-TELEMARK, Norway – A late-night car crash in Midt-Telemark has ⁤left authorities searching for the driver after a vehicle was found overturned in a ditch.

Police responded to reports of a car on its roof around 10:55 p.m. local time. Upon arrival, officers discovered the vehicle abandoned in the ‍ditch. With no occupants found at the scene, a search was promptly launched, aided⁢ by a police helicopter.

“There are no persons in the vehicle.⁤ We are searching the ⁣area⁣ for individuals who may have been in the car,with assistance from a police helicopter,” police stated.

By 1:30 a.m.,authorities announced they had identified a suspect in the case. The⁣ search for the driver continues.

“We ⁢have opened a case regarding the⁣ incident,adn even ⁣though no one has admitted responsibility,we ⁣have a suspect in⁣ the case,” said Operations⁣ Leader Rune Hekkelstrand.

This incident follows another crash earlier in the night in the same⁢ region. An 18-year-old male driver was transported to a trauma center in Skien after his car rolled over. The driver, though conscious, reported experiencing pain.

“He⁤ is being taken to the trauma center in Skien,” confirmed the Sørøst Police District at 1:12 a.m. ‍Sunday.
