Kochi: City Police Commissioner CH Nagaraju has said that actor Saiju Kurup has been questioned for handing over a credit card to Vijay Babu, who went into hiding in Dubai in a case of molestation of a young girl. The probe team questioned four people, including Saiju Kurup. The commissioner said the police were investigating whether Vijay had helped Babu knowing that he was absconding in the case of torturing Yuvanati.

The names of the other three have not been released. Saiju Kurup may be charged in the case if he knowingly helped. The hour-long interrogation was on Saturday. Indications are that Saiju will be called back. The investigation team found that the cards delivered by Vijay Babu’s relative at the cinema location in Kodungallur were handed over by Saiju Kurup directly to Dubai via Nedumbassery. Police also collected information on Vijay Babu’s credit card transactions. Following this, the Ernakulam South police questioned Saiju Kurup.

Vijay Babu will be questioned again after the testimony of witnesses is completed. Two seized phones of Vijay Babu were sent to the Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Lab for scientific examination.
