Cash App Class Action Settlement: Claim Up to $2,500 for Security Breaches
Cash App Class-Action Settlement Overview
Cash App users may claim up to $2,500 due to security breaches. The settlement comes from allegations that the app’s owner, Block, did not adequately protect user data.
Background of the Issue
In a lawsuit filed in February, users reported two significant data breaches. In 2022, a former employee accessed user account details without authorization. In 2023, unauthorized individuals used recycled phone numbers to access accounts. The lawsuit suggests Block failed to implement proper security measures and address reports of fraudulent activities on the app.
Settlement Details
The proposed settlement amount is $15 million. Cash App and Block deny any wrongdoing.
