The government of Castilla y León is providing direct financial aid,up to €20,000,to encourage self-employed individuals to take over existing businesses in the region. This initiative, called Release, aims to support autonomous work, create jobs, and foster economic development.

The Self-Employment release program offers a minimum of €10,000,potentially reaching €20,000 for those continuing an existing economic activity. The amount can increase by €4,000 for self-employed women,an additional €2,000 for beneficiaries under 35,and another €2,000 if the business is in a municipality with between 1,000 and 5,000 residents. Businesses located in municipalities with fewer than 1,000 inhabitants may recieve up to €4,000 more.
Fernández Mañueco said that, for example, a young woman taking over a business in a small town could access up to €20,000 in direct aid. The aid is retroactive to Jan. 1, 2025.
The release Vacyl Entrepreneurship program includes two additional funding streams to support advice, consulting, and intergenerational mentoring in business succession processes.
One stream targets autonomous and multisectoral autonomous associations, offering up to €60,000 per entity. The second is for associative entities of cooperatives and labor societies, with a maximum of €30,000. Both prioritize supporting succession assumed by women to promote their presence in self-employment.

The initiative includes the launch of the Virtual Release Platform,designed to connect those wishing to pass on their businesses with new entrepreneurs interested in taking them over.
