CD PROJEKT RED Unveils ‘Phantom Liberty’ DLC and 2.0 Update for Cyberpunk 2077 at Gamescom 2023

CD PROJEKT RED (CDPR) unveiled exciting news about their game ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ at Europe’s esteemed gaming event, Gamescom 2023, in Cologne, Germany, on the 23rd of August, Korean time.

During the Opening Night Live (ONL) event, CDPR’s gameplay designer took the stage to introduce the highly anticipated ‘Phantom Liberty’ DLC for Cyberpunk 2077, alongside the 2.0 update.

Unlike the DLC, the 2.0 update will be available to all players, even those who choose not to purchase the DLC. This update brings an array of new content, including additional areas, story quests, events, and significant improvements to existing features. These enhancements aim to address the concerns expressed by players about aspects such as police and enemy artificial intelligence (AI), as well as the repetitive equipment configuration.

In a thrilling trailer released during the event, Cyberpunk 2077 showcased new ‘Perks’ that will be introduced in the update. These include the ability to use fallen enemy bodies as a weapon by throwing them, and shooting enemy-thrown grenades to counterattack. Additionally, the trailer revealed the introduction of ‘Relic’ materials, providing players with exciting new experiences.

Notably, CD PROJEKT RED has always been committed to supporting the Korean language in their game, including voiceovers. This commitment carries over to the 2.0 update and the Phantom Liberty DLC, as they both offer full Korean language support. Players can expect this update to be rolled out simultaneously with the release of the Phantom Liberty DLC on September 26th.

With these significant updates and additions, CDPR aims to deliver an enhanced and immersive experience for Cyberpunk 2077 players, by addressing existing issues and offering exciting new gameplay elements.
