The Jeonju International Film Festival, which dreams of a festival of endless growth and expansion, has announced its 25th departure.

On the 3rd, a press conference was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul to announce the films to be shown at the 25th Jeonju International Film Festival.

In attendance were organizing committee chairman Woo Beom-ki, cooperative committee chairman Min Seong-wook, Jeong Jun-ho, programmers Moon Seok, Jeon Jin-soo and Moon Seong-kyung, and project general producer Park Tae-jun .

This year, the slogan was ‘We always cross the line.’ The official screenings include 232 films from 43 countries, including 102 domestic films (52 full-length films and 50 short films) and 130 international films (110 full-length films and 20 short films) .

Organizing Committee Chairman Woo Beom-ki said, “The Jeonju Film Festival has established itself as one of the most important film festivals in Asia,” and added, “Thanks to the endless affection and interest of many people, the festival has celebrated her 25th birthday. with repeated challenges and innovations.”

The opening film is ‘All at Dawn’ by director Sho Miyake, who was featured last year with ‘When I Look into Your Eyes’. It is based on the novel of the same name by Japanese author Maiko Seo. It depicts the friendship and unity between Fujisawa (Mone Kamishiraishi), who suffers from PMS (premenstrual syndrome) symptoms, and Yamazoe (Hokuto Matsumura), who suffers from panic disorder.

The closing film was ‘Matt and Mara’ directed by Kazik Radwanski.

Programmer Moon Seok said of the opening film, “Even those who don’t like so-called art films will be able to enjoy it comfortably and beautifully.”

This year, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Disaster, ‘Korean Cinema: A Special Exhibition for the 10th anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Disaster’ will be held to remember that day and to commemorate the victims once again.

Chairman of the Cooperative Jeong Jun-ho said, “Recently, there have been a series of disturbing news about the government’s budget support for film festivals, but this year, the Jeonju Film Festival was connected to the tourism project that Jeonju City promote separately. with the full cooperation of the local government.” He added, “The size of the film festival will not be reduced compared to before.” Instead, it was possible to organize a film festival that went beyond maintaining the appearance of the current festival. “You’ll be able to enjoy a festival that feels like a festival,” he said.

This year’s Jeonju International Film Festival is scheduled to take place from May 1 to 10 in Jeonju City, including Jeonju Film Street.
