Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department has forecasted widespread rain in Kerala today with a red alert issued for Pathanamthitta district due to anticipated heavy rainfall.

Yellow and orange warnings have been issued for multiple areas across the state, including a yellow alert for Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, and Wayanad districts. An orange alert has been issued for Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram districts.

Isolated heavy rain is expected in the areas under the orange warning, while the yellow warning areas may experience isolated heavy rain as well, as the Meteorological Department predicts moderate to heavy rain with thunder and lightning over the next five days due to the Cyclone Cyclone located over Tamil Nadu near Kerala.

The Central Meteorological Department advises preparedness for heavy rain and potential very heavy rain in remote areas until the 24th of November. Additionally, a new cyclonic system forming over the South Andaman Sea by November 25 may intensify into a low-pressure system by November 26, potentially moving in a west-northwest direction and strengthening as a low-pressure system over the southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea by November 27. Thiruvananthapuram: The Central Meteorological Department forecast is that widespread rain is likely in the state today. A red alert has been issued in Pathanamthitta district in anticipation of heavy rain.

A yellow warning has been issued in two areas and a yellow warning in 9 areas. Orange alert in Idukki and Thiruvananthapuram districts. A yellow alert is in place in Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad.

Isolated heavy rain is expected in the areas under orange warning. A yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki and Wayanad districts on Thursday and Ernakulam district on Friday.
