Chad on High Alert: Can Deby’s Government Stem the Tide of Terror

Islamists from the Boko Haram group launched an attack against a forward base of the Chadian army in the Lake Chad region, not far from the border with Nigeria. According to the official toll, which is still tentative, around forty soldiers lost their lives during this attack, not counting the wounded who also numbered in the dozens.
