Chairman Chung Eui-haul, support for ‘Busan Expo’ attraction

Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun visited Slovakia on the 28th (local time) and met with Prime Minister Eduard Heger to request support for Busan World Expo (Busan Expo) and discuss ways of cooperation to expand eco-friendly mobility.

Slovakia is currently the chair of the Visegrad Group, a central European regional consultative body associated with the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary.

Chairman Jung introduced, “Busan is a logistics hub connecting Eurasia and the Pacific Ocean, and has first-class tourism infrastructure, cultural content, and experience in hosting a number of large-scale international events, which’ n meaning that it is the best city for the World Expo. .” He said, “The Busan World Expo will seek a sustainable future through eco-friendly living and technological innovation under the theme of the world’s great transformation and journey to a better future, and will promote cooperation in the international community.”

On the 27th, Chairman Chung met with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and asked for support for the Busan Expo. The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union (EU).

Chairman Chung also expressed his gratitude for the Slovakian government’s support for Kia Autoland Slovakia, Kia’s European production base.

Since starting operations in 2006, Kia Autoland Slovakia achieved a cumulative production of 4 million units last year. It produces European-tailored strategic vehicles, such as the Ced, Xced, and Sportage.
