A majority in the House ‌of Representatives has rejected ⁤a debate on the National Research on Muslim discrimination, deeming the study substandard.

According to SGP MP Flach, The research is so bad that ‍we⁤ should not do that. It does not‍ deserve the‍ name ‘National Research’.

PVV MP ⁤Boon characterized‍ it ‌as a flut inquiry, adding,If ⁤my son had⁣ returned this in‌ HAVO 2,he ⁤would have had an‌ insufficient.

The negative response‌ from a majority of the chamber is ⁣unusual, considering the investigation was commissioned by a ministry at the request of the Chamber itself.

The cabinet sent ‌the study on Muslim discrimination to the Lower⁢ House⁣ on Friday. Researchers concluded that muslim discrimination is important in education, employment, housing, and health care. They ‍cautioned that young⁣ people could lose connection with Dutch society.

The research comprised a literature review, discussions with interest groups, ⁤experts, ‍and policymakers, and interviews with 44 Muslims about their experiences with discrimination. The researchers based their general conclusions on this ⁣qualitative investigation.

In 2022, the DENK group requested⁤ the investigation and ‍received majority ‍support.Party ‌leader Van Baarle expressed satisfaction with the report’s release last week and sought to‌ place a debate on the Chamber Agenda.

The conclusions are worrying, ⁢ Van Baarle said. It⁣ is time for us not to talk about investigations but about the approach to ⁤Muslim discrimination.

Research Criticized

The previous majority no‌ longer stands. The ‌BBB party⁣ believes ‍the research is flawed. The CDA cited a small number of respondents, and the NSC also voiced criticism.

Ultimately, DENK‍ only garnered ‌support ⁢from ⁣GL-PVDA, D66, Volt, SP, and pvdd. Van‌ Baarle described the opponents’ reactions and their criticism of the research‌ as this room unworthy, considering it a slap in the face ⁢ to Muslims facing discrimination. While the ‍investigation may be discussed in another debate, the House will not base immediate measures on it.
