Changes in Visa Rules Implemented in Oman

The Royal Oman Police has recently implemented several changes in visa rules, affecting various categories of individuals in the country. As per the new regulations, individuals holding a visit visa or tourist visa in Oman will no longer be allowed to switch to a work visa or family visa without leaving the country and renewing their visa.

To change their visa category, individuals will now have to depart from Oman and undergo the visa renewal process. In line with this, the Royal Oman Police has temporarily suspended the issuance of new visas to Bangladeshi nationals.

Effective as of 31 October, these regulations have caused noteworthy adjustments in visa renewals for Bangladeshis currently residing and working in the Sultanate under work and residence visas. However, individuals who initially entered Oman on a visit visa were previously able to change their visa type by paying a fee of 50 Saudi riyals.
