Changes to the Regulatory Plan are necessary for the construction of the Fire Department and Telethon. > The Rancaguino

The replacement of the new barracks for the Eighth Fire Company of Rancagua “Bomba Estados Unidos de América” would be postponed due to the fact that the rules that govern the property where they are located today have not yet been resolved and that was handed over to commodatum by the municipality in 2017. A similar situation would be happening with the place where the first Teletón Institute of the O’Higgins Region will be built and that will be located in Rancagua.

With an investment of around 1,700 million pesos, the first of these projects seeks to provide a new volunteer fire station in the south-west area of the city, an entity formed since 2017 and that operates on land that was ceded by the municipality. local in Monteaguila street with Río Loco. Meanwhile, the Teletón Institute, whose tender has already been opened, would have more than ten billion pesos for its construction, resources approved last year by the Regional Government.

Until now there is an observation made by the Comptroller regarding the need for modification No. 21 of the regulatory plan of the city by the Municipality of Rancagua. According to this planning instrument, the land use is not adequate to obtain building permits.

In this regard, from the municipality they clarified verbatim to #ElRancagüino, that both projects are in the process of processing within the framework of the modification of the Communal Regulatory Plan. In the case of the Telethon center, the strategic location stands out by placing it in the Community Park, near terminals, inter-communal and communal routes in order to provide easy access for patients and their families. “For this, a part of the land of the Community Park has been incorporated -which was not being used- so that, through modification No. 21, the project will be made viable through the change of use of a portion of the park, in order to allow the appropriate regulatory conditions for its construction”, indicates the statement issued from the municipality.

In relation to the new headquarters of the Eighth Rancagua Fire Company, the municipality reiterated that the Regulatory Plan is considered in this process. They explained that the regulatory adjustment for the sector has been taken into account, to give feasibility in the use of land and building regulations for the land where the construction of this barracks is planned. “Today this project is in the resolution stage of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Report at the SEREMI for the Environment,” they specified.

SEREMI

Consulted on the subject, the Seremi de Obras Públicas María de los Ángeles Latorre, said that the current use of the land in the case of the Fire Station does not “admit security equipment while, in the center of the Teletón, Health equipment” .

According to the representative, “they are working in a table led by the Regional Government where the environmental seremis, MINVU, SERPLAC and the municipal transit department, the MOP seremi, among others, also participate, to see the deadlines in that this situation can be ended, hoping that when it is awarded after about 4 months of bidding process, this situation will be resolved, in the case of Centro Teletón”.

What happens, he assures, is that these modifications to the regulatory plan are extensive since they include a series of interventions such as citizen participation or publications, among other requirements. “These are long processes, this modification takes about a year, but we have been working so that the deadlines match the time of the award,” he said. “All parties are committed as there are deadlines that must be met by law. We are working aligned so as not to exceed these deadlines and hopefully shorten them in the shortest possible time,” the authority clarified.

And this was also confirmed by the municipality: “Regarding the approval deadlines, after several coordination meetings with the Regional Government and the Department of Architecture, it is completely feasible to have the approval of the modification by the time it is awarded and approved.” manage the administrative aspects by MOP Arquitectura”.

It is expected that the approval of this modification to the Regulatory Plan will be concluded by the end of July of this year in order to advance in the installation and construction of both works, so vital in the regional capital and the region.
