Charged with arresting married man in his 40s who took 180 billion earned by posting ‘fake marriage’

A man in his 40s was put on trial for extorting money by defrauding a woman he loved while pretending she was unmarried.

The 3rd Criminal Division of the Suwon District Prosecutors Office announced that the man was arrested and indicted today on charges of fraud.

The man is accused of extorting about 180 million won in the name of running costs of the gym when contacting the victim after presenting himself as unmarried for about one year and nine months from February 2016.

In the process, it was revealed that this man even had a fake wedding ceremony to reassure the victim.

The man was arrested as additional charges were revealed of falsifying the balance as if he had more than 1.4 billion won in his bank account and falsifying a family relationship certificate to hide the existence of his wife and children.
