The university spokeswoman stated that Mr Kirk was struck approximately 20 minutes after beginning his speech. The shot originated from the Losee center, a building roughly 200 yards away. mr Kirk’s security team instantly removed him from the area following the shooting.
FBI director Kash Patel confirmed that the suspect is now in custody. An individual initially taken into custody was later released.
