athens, Ga. — Former University of Georgia outside linebacker Chaz Chambliss has signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent, following the 2025 NFL Draft. jeremy Fowler of ESPN first reported the signing.
Chambliss, a key component of the Bulldogs’ defense for four seasons, contributed to two national championship victories. He appeared in 54 games, starting in 25 of them. Over his collegiate career,Chambliss recorded 86 tackles,including 17 for loss,and nine sacks.
Chambliss’s Impact at Georgia
The 2024 season marked Chambliss’s most productive year, as he tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks. He shared that distinction with Jalon Walker, who was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Chambliss earned Third-Team All-SEC honors for his performance.
Despite his achievements, Chambliss was not invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. However, his consistent performance in georgia practices provided ample opportunities for scouts to evaluate his abilities.
Coach Smart Praises Chambliss’s Work Ethic
Georgia head coach Kirby smart believes Chambliss’s dedication and film study will serve him well in the NFL.
“I think Chaz’s work ethic is buying in his leadership, his film study,” Smart said. “Chaz knows what people are running before we do as coordinators sometimes because he looks at so much tape, and he uses those cues to help him and make plays.”

Special Teams Contributions and Draft Success
Chambliss also contributed on special teams, further enhancing his value. During his time at Georgia, he played alongside 13 first-round NFL draft picks, a testament to his ability to compete at a high level despite not being considered an elite athlete.
Georgia continued its tradition of producing NFL talent in the 2025 draft, with 13 players selected.Since smart took over as head coach, 76 of his players have been drafted into the NFL.
