This is the “Sipni Cherry Blossom Road” which runs from Hwagae Market to Ssanggyesa Temple along the Hwagaecheon of Mount Jiri.
The Cherry Blossom Festival starts tomorrow (22nd), but there are no cherry blossoms in full bloom.
Of the 1,200 cherry trees, only a handful have buds.
There were quite a few tourists in a group in line with the festival season, but we had to turn back.

This is the first time the festival has been held without cherry blossoms in full bloom since the Hadong Cherry Blossom Festival began in 1993.
In particular, this year, with the weather forecast saying that the flowering period will be early, the festival has been brought forward by a week, and the merchants and local governments who have been waiting for the cherry blossom festival are shocked.

Since cherry blossoms are not blooming, more and more local governments are postponing festivals.
Cherry blossom festivals in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province and Gangneung, Gangwon Province were also delayed by about a week.
It is analyzed that flowering is delayed due to the lack of sunlight due to three cold waves and frequent rains in March.
