Chilled Out: How Your Internet Bills and ACs Can Get You Kicked Off the Ration Card List
Clarification on Removing Ineligibles from Support Cards
A source from the Ministry of Supply and Domestic Trade has shed light on recent rumors surrounding the new conditions for removing ineligibles from the support card. The rumors claimed that the number of air conditioners in a house and the cost of landline internet bills would be taken into account.
The source confirmed that there is no basis for deleting landline internet bills or multiple house air conditioners from a citizen’s ration card based on cost. This clarification aims to alleviate concerns among citizens who may have been misled by the rumors.
Update on Ration Card Data
The Ministry of Supply and Domestic Trade has set a deadline of next Saturday for 7,169 cardholders to update their ration card data. This update is necessary due to the presence of non-family members registered on the ration cards.
The ministry has sent a notification to the affected cardholders, explaining that they will not receive subsidized bread until their data is updated. Cardholders must visit their local Supply Directorate to submit the required documents, which include:
- Name and national number of the ration card holder
- Ration card number
- Name and national number of beneficiaries
- Family ties between the cardholder and beneficiaries
If non-family members are registered on the ration card, they will be deleted, and the cases will be forwarded to the Ministry’s general office. The required information for these cases includes:
- Cardholder’s name and national number
- Ration card number
- Name and national number of family members
- Name and national number of the unrelated beneficiary
