FIFA has ⁢announced the first sponsors of the new Club World Cup tournament, set‍ to‌ take place in the⁣ United States next summer. The tournament, which will feature 32 clubs, has secured a deal with a Chinese electronics company to display its brand in the video operations room and on pitchside screens during match referees’ reviews of ‍key events.

Tournament Details

The Club World Cup will ‌be held in 11 American cities from June 15⁢ to ‍July 13, 2025. The tournament will feature some of the world’s top⁢ clubs, including Spain’s Real Madrid, England’s Manchester City, and Germany’s Bayern ⁢Munich, as well as five Arab⁣ clubs: Egypt’s Al-Ahly, Saudi Arabia’s ‍Al-Hilal, Al-Ain of ‌the Emirates, Waidad Casablanca in Morocco, ‍and Esperance in Tunisia.

Participating Teams

American team Inter Miami, representing the host nation, will ⁣be one of the two sides in the opening match of the tournament. The team, which includes Argentine wizard Lionel Messi, is expected to be a strong contender in the competition.

Prize​ Money and Broadcasting

FIFA is expected to finalize an agreement with Saudi sponsors ‌soon, which will increase the tournament’s total prize money to hundreds of millions of‍ dollars. However, the competition still ⁤lacks a deal to broadcast matches.

Video Review ⁣Process

The video review process, which will be sponsored by the Chinese electronics ⁤company, will ⁢allow referees to review key match events, ⁢such as the awarding of⁤ goals and penalty kicks and red ‌cards. The review times can take at least ⁢two minutes, although ​FIFA aims to complete the check ⁣in just 10 seconds.

Tournament Draw

The draw for the⁣ tournament is expected to take place ​in early December, after the winner⁤ of the current edition of the Copa Libertadores championship is announced on November 30.
