As a result of the investigation by Rep. Chung’s office, it was revealed that Eastern Airlines is retaining its employees on paid leave for flight attendants in China, Japan and Europe.

“Even though Eastern Airlines’ routes between Korea and China have been restored to about 70 flights per month, all of them are operated by Chinese flight attendants,” said an official from the Office of the National Assembly member Jeong. there,” he said.

The flight attendants, whose application for renewal of the contract was rejected, filed a lawsuit to confirm the invalidity of their dismissal with the Seoul Central District Court, continuing the lawsuit until now.

Rep. Jung said, “We need to strictly supervise whether foreign airlines and other foreign companies maintain their employment so that there are no young people who lose their jobs due to COVID-19 and suffer from lawsuits.”
