After this, he angrily demanded to withdraw five million renminbi ($783,000 at 2021 exchange rates) from the account. He said the money should be counted by hand. It is reported that the footage of bank employees counting bundles of money and him walking out with suitcases full of money went viral on social media that day.

He responded on Chinese social media website Weibo that it took bank staff more than two hours to count the money by hand. He said he withdrew the maximum he could withdraw in one day and decided to deposit the remaining millions in other banks because of the ‘worst customer service’.
