A challenging showdown unfolded in the women’s 59kg final, where Luo Shifang faced stiff competition from rival athletes such as Hangzhou and North Korean player Kim Il-kyung. Overcoming setbacks, Luo Shifang demonstrated remarkable strength and skill, claiming the snatch gold medal with a lift of 108 kilograms. In the clean and jerk event, she continued her exceptional performance, securing three gold medals with a total score of 247kg, setting a new world record at Olympic level.

In the men’s 73kg Group A finals, Shi Zhiyong’s formidable lifting abilities secured him the gold medal in the snatch event with an impressive lift of 160 kilograms. Although he faced challenges in the clean and jerk event, Shi Zhiyong’s overall performance earned him the silver medal.

Other notable Chinese players, including Chen Lijun, Tian Tao, Li Dayin, and Pei Xinyi, chose to sit out the competition, adhering to adjustments in training rhythm. Despite not performing any lifts, their participation in the Olympic qualifying event was duly recognized by the International Weightlifting Federation.
