‘Chinese Zero Corona Artifact’ Disappears From 8th Mandatory Quarantine For New Arrivals

Passengers leaving the Capital International Airport arrival hall without any special restrictions. Hold the nerve
Quarantine for foreign arrivals, which was almost the last relic of China’s zero-corona policy, was completely abolished from the 8th. From that day onward, new arrivals from China immediately dispersed to their respective destinations without quarantine, and non-quarantine travel between Hong Kong and the mainland was also implemented.

On the morning of the first day after the lifting of the quarantine for foreign arrivals, visitors flocked to meet them when a notice of an arriving plane appeared in front of the arrival hall exit of Terminal 3 of Beijing International Airport Capital.

It is a common sight that can be seen in any airport in the world, but it has disappeared in China since the start of Corona 19. Arriving passengers were put on a bus and sent to a quarantine hotel after having an acid test nucleic.

However, as the quarantine for overseas arrivals was lifted, travelers arriving in China went straight to their destinations, such as their homes or hotels.

Chinese media reported that the image of passengers getting off the plane dragging their suitcases and people holding flowers waiting for their families and friends filled the airport with warmth.

The abolition of the quarantine system for new arrivals from abroad was implemented from the 8th, but it has been in a state of disrepute since the 27th of last month when the news of the abolition was announced. Accordingly, passengers who arrived in Beijing on Asiana flights on the 31st and 7th of last month were not quarantined.

Although the quarantine system for foreign arrivals has been removed, the number of foreign arrivals visiting China is not expected to surge in the short term. This is because countries are passive in increasing flights to China as Corona 19 spreads in China.

Only 10 international flights arrived at Capital International Airport on the first day of the quarantine. Excluding Hong Kong and Macau, there were only three flights from Warsaw, Poland, Frankfurt, Germany, and Madrid, Spain.

Quarantine-free travel between mainland China and Hong Kong was also possible from today. Both sides allowed a total of 60,000 travelers from both directions to enter the country through seven checkpoints in the border area.

Hong Kong authorities said on the same day that more than 30,000 people had applied for entry to China. About 6,600 travelers from China applied for entry to Hong Kong.

With the end of the quarantine, overland traffic between Hunchun, Najin, and Seonbong, the trade hubs between North Korea and China, is said to have partially resumed recently.

Meanwhile, workers at an antigen test kit manufacturing plant in China protested over the issue of late wages.

On the evening of the 7th, on the Chinese video platform Douyin and Twitter, a number of videos were uploaded of workers clashing with the police at Zhongyue & Huiji, an antigen test kit manufacturer in Chongqing.

In the video, workers were filmed protesting strongly by throwing traffic control facilities and plastic boxes at the police. Protesters chanted “Give back the money!” In China, there are protests demanding payment of unpaid wages before the recent Lunar New Year.
