Michelle Collins, DNP, APRN

ChristianaCare honors two nurses with fellowships from the American Academy of Nursing (AAN). Michelle Collins, DNP, APRN, and Danielle Sarik, Ph.D., APRN, received this recognition for their contributions to nursing leadership and health care policy.

Collins serves as the vice president of Nursing Professional Excellence at ChristianaCare. Sarik is a nurse scientist consultant. Both were inducted on November 2, alongside nurse leaders from 37 states and 14 countries. They join over 3,000 fellows recognized by the Academy since 1973.

Danielle Weber, chief nurse executive at ChristianaCare, stated, “Induction into the Academy represents the highest honor in nursing. This recognition highlights Michelle’s and Danielle’s exceptional leadership and commitment.”

Collins expressed gratitude for the induction, emphasizing her role in establishing the Virtual Acute Care Network at ChristianaCare. Her work includes improving nursing practice and securing significant funding for nursing technology.

“I am both grateful and honored to accept this induction as a pioneer in virtual acute care nursing,” Collins said.

Danielle Sarik
Danielle Sarik, Ph.D., APRN

Sarik also shared her honor in becoming a fellow. She highlighted her commitment to addressing health disparities through her research. She developed the Baby Steps model to improve care for neonatal patients and their families.

“I look forward to continuing to lead research and advocacy efforts,” Sarik stated.

Linda Scott, AAN President, noted that earning the FAAN credential signifies the future impact these nurses will make.
