People Power Party MP Choo Kyung-ho said on the 1st day: “I am thinking of running for the position of leader. “I’ll make a decision by the weekend,” he said.

Rep. Chu said in a phone call with News 1 that day, “I haven’t made a decision yet,” but added, “I’m going to listen to my surroundings a little more and make a decision.”

Rep. Chu, who became a three-term senior member of the National Assembly through the 22nd general election, is a former orthodox economic bureaucrat in the Ministry of Strategy and Finance and is called the party’s economic expert.

In the 20th National Assembly, which was his first election, he was appointed secretary of the Planning and Finance Committee, breaking the custom of re-election. He served as senior deputy leader of the 21st National Assembly.

He served as first deputy prime minister of economy and minister of strategy and finance in the Yoon Seok-yeol government and is considered the right person for party-government communication. Although he served as a minister in the Yoon administration, his political affiliation is considered weak. As an economic expert, he is considered an asset to counter the opposition party’s offensive, including the 250,000 won subsidy for all citizens.

The People’s Power Party is currently going through a crisis regarding its lead candidate. Initially, candidate registration was supposed to take place on the 1st day and floor leader primaries on the 3rd day, but since no one officially declared candidacy, the program was postponed to candidate registration on the 5th day and primary elections on the 9th month. .

Previously, there was a popular theory that MP Chin-yoon Lee Cheol-gyu would become the party leader, but when the theory emerged inside and outside the party that the general election was responsible for judging the regime, the possibility that Congressman Lee Si was discussing Cheol-gyu not running.

Rep. Lee said on his Facebook page that day, “I have never made any decisions or expressed any positions regarding the election of the floor leader.”
