Citizens gathered in front of the council of Ministers in Sofia on December 3, 2023, to protest against the Bulgarian government. Protesters were chanting slogans including “Mafia” and “Resignation,” according to the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA).
A heightened police presence was observed in the area surrounding the protests.
Protest Institution and Location
Two separate protests converged at the Council of Ministers on Sunday. One was organized via Facebook by the Civic Initiative “Buditeli” (Awakeners), and the othre was organized by citizens through a website dedicated to ongoing demonstrations following protests held on Monday.
Initially, some participants gathered in front of the Presidential Institution before joining the larger group at the Council of Ministers.
