Alès, France – The Cercle Nautique Cévennes Alès (CNC) showcased a strong performance across multiple age groups this past weekend, competing in both Nîmes and at their home facility, the Le Toboggan nautical center. A total of 126 young swimmers participated, split between competitions held on January 31 and February 1.

The competition began on January 31 in Nîmes, with 61 swimmers born in 2018 and 2017 taking to the Pablo-Neruda pool. Eline Faure secured a second-place finish in the 100m freestyle for those born in 2018, while Naël Nasri claimed the bronze medal in the same event. Romane Pouget also earned a silver medal in the 100m freestyle, also for swimmers born in 2017.

Moving to the older age groups, results were determined by a points system across three events. Nayla Boussa emerged victorious among those born in 2016, with Lalie Giraud Pyton finishing third. Tom Thiery topped the standings for the 2015 birth year, followed by Hélénie Hmana in second place.

On February 1, the action shifted to the Le Toboggan center in Alès, hosting swimmers born in 2013 and 2014. Ezio Botoni won the competition for those born in 2014, with Dani Radovici taking third. The girls’ competition in the same age group saw a complete podium sweep for the CNC Alès, with Chani Chan Wong Yen, Assyl Jihad Atya, and Lucille Orlandin Goulabert finishing first, second, and third respectively.

Elisa Clavé secured a win among the girls born in 2013, while Darril Santo finished second and Météhan Kiper third in the boys’ competition for the same birth year.

A Total of 19 Titles Awarded

In addition to the age-group competitions, an all-category event was held concurrently, yielding a remarkable 19 titles for the CNC Alès. Chloé Berlaimont won the 100m backstroke, Kamil Chetoui triumphed in the 50m butterfly, and Noélyse Discolle secured first place in the 100m freestyle. Jean-Charles Fraysse claimed victory in the 100m backstroke, while Louka Gil won the 50m backstroke.

Lalie Martin demonstrated versatility by winning both the 50m butterfly and the 200m medley. Loucas Moreno Issenmann took the top spot in the 100m butterfly, and Titouan Parat won the 200m medley. Evan Pereto emerged victorious in the 800m freestyle, and Liséa Pichon secured wins in both the 50m freestyle and the 50m breaststroke.

Maïlys Sagit claimed the 200m backstroke and 100m butterfly titles, while Nathan Saurin won the 400m freestyle. Chloé Varraud Ibanez secured a win in the 800m freestyle, Jade Velay won the 50m backstroke, and Lorenzo Vincent completed the impressive haul with victories in both the 100m freestyle and the 100m breaststroke.

The CNC Alès’s strong showing across all age groups and events highlights the club’s continued success in developing young swimming talent.
