martin Kove, the 78-year-old actor best known for his role as John Kreese in “Cobra Kai,” faced accusations of assault at a Washington state fan convention. He was afterward removed from the event, according to reports.
The allegation stems from an incident involving Kove’s co-star, Alicia Hannah-Kim, who plays Kim Da-Eun in the Netflix series. Hannah-Kim told an on-site officer that Kove allegedly bit her arm after she tapped him on the shoulder at their cast booth.
According to an informational police report, Hannah-Kim stated, “Martin Kove suddenly grabbed her arm and bit her upper arm so hard it nearly drew blood, and she yelled out in pain. After Martin Kove finished biting her arm, he grabbed her arm once more and began kissing it where he had bitten her.”
Hannah-Kim’s husband, Sebastian Roche, reportedly witnessed the incident. When confronted, Kove allegedly “exploded on them” and insisted he had done nothing wrong.
The officer who spoke with Hannah-Kim noted a “very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising,” according to the report.
When questioned, Kove “admitted to biting” hannah-Kim but claimed he did it “out of jest.” The report stated, ”He thought he was being funny, and they play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai and he did not think it was a big deal.”
The officer informed Kove that his alleged assault was illegal and would “not be tolerated in the future.” Kove reportedly responded that he was “just messing around” and “did not mean for it to be perceived as illegal.”
Despite the incident, Hannah-kim declined to press charges but requested the report be taken “in case this continues.”
Kove was then “escorted out of Summer Con,” according to the report.
