The Ministry of Education promotes a plan to improve university general education. According to the information technology literacy cultivation sub-project, the 2024 Coding 101 University Programming Competition is hosted by National Taiwan Ocean University and Feng Chia University. The competition is divided into preliminary rounds and semi-finals. Two teams from Evergreen University won awards, winning the Quantitative Analysis Application Award, the Popularity Award and the Excellent Work Award respectively, for their excellent performance.

In order to popularize programming education, the Ministry of Education launched a college programming teaching plan in 2019. In the same year, it began to hold the Coding 101 college programming competition, encouraging students studying programming in non-information fields to participate. The teaching quality assurance team stated that the purpose of holding the Coding 101 College Programming Competition is to encourage college students to learn programming, apply software collaborative development tools and methods, and hope to collaborate on software creation. In order to popularize programming education, the Ministry of Education has established a mid-term program to improve university general education to help students improve their abilities in computational thinking, quantitative analysis, software creation and integration, and computational expression understanding.

The scoring criteria for the preliminary rounds focus on application and creativity, as well as challenge and completion. The semi-finals are divided into completion, reporting and explanation, application, creativity and challenge scores. The school has two student teams shortlisted this year. The “Digital Spray Painting” team, guided by Yang Menghua and Wang Xianzhang, teachers of the Department of Interaction Design of the School of Information and Design, and composed of students such as Lai Maolin, Lin Guanyu, Wu Fengqian, Chen Juyuan, and Li Zhengxin, won the Popularity Award and the Excellence Award for their “Cyber ​​Graffiti” that promotes street graffiti. .
