Coi Leray’s “Pink Money” Signals a Bold New Chapter After Motherhood
New York, NY - Coi Leray is back, and she’s dripping in confidence and, well, “Pink Money.” The dynamic rapper has unleashed her latest single, a high-energy track featuring blistering verses from G Herbo and Bktherula, marking a distinct evolution in her sound and persona.
released Friday, “Pink Money” sees Leray embracing a bolder, more assertive energy. The track opens with a flurry of luxury boasts: “The LV bag got rhinestones on it / These Tiffany bracelets got imported / Diamonds look like Fiji water.” She effortlessly weaves tales of Balenciaga splurges and making it rain at Atlanta’s famed Magic City, painting a picture of unapologetic success.
Bktherula injects the track with her signature swagger, delivering lines like, “that money make yo’ bch cheat / Even without that bag, I bag yo’ bch up into next week / Even without that cash, I’m rulin’ s**t and this you can’t beat.” G Herbo,a familiar collaborator, closes out the track with his signature hard-hitting flow, boasting about the “all the diamonds flooded” on his wrist.
This isn’t the first time Leray and G Herbo have joined forces.Fans will remember their collaboration on “Thief In The Night” from Leray’s debut album, Trendsetter. However,”Pink Money” marks Bktherula’s first foray into working with both artists, adding a fresh dynamic to the mix.
The release of “Pink Money” is notably meaningful as it’s Leray’s first offering since welcoming her daughter, Miyoco, into the world in June. The name Miyoco is a touching tribute, blending “Mi” from Trippie Redd’s real name, Michael, and “Co” from the beginning of Leray’s own name.
Musically, “Pink Money” represents a departure from the more vulnerable territory explored on her EP, What Happened To Forever?, released earlier this year. While that project delved into heartbreak and introspection with tracks like ”Keep It,” “Leave You alone,” and “I Hate Your Friends,” “Pink Money” is a party of self-assured
