Second Chance Animal Services is gearing up for its 13th annual Charity Golf Tournament, a key fundraising event too support its veterinary hospitals.The tournament returns to Cold Spring Contry Club in Belchertown on Monday, July 14, combining a day on the green with a commitment to providing affordable veterinary care.
The proceeds from the golf tournament will directly benefit Second Chance’s community veterinary hospitals located in Springfield, Worcester, Southbridge, and North Brookfield. These hospitals provide crucial, affordable care to pets, ensuring they remain with their families, especially in underserved communities. This initiative addresses pet homelessness and suffering by bridging the gap in access to veterinary services.
The tournament promises a fun-filled day for golfers, including a box lunch, banquet dinner, a commemorative gift, and range balls. Participants can also enjoy on-course tastings and various contests,such as longest drive and closest to the pin. A hole-in-one challenge offers a $4,000 pool or spa prize, courtesy of Teddy Bear Pools. Additionally, guests can participate in raffles and a silent auction, which opens online a week before the event.
Lindsay doray,chief development officer at Second Chance,emphasized the importance of the event. “This is a fantastic day of golf for an even greater cause,” Doray said. “In today’s climate,access to veterinary care is more important than ever. Our hospitals help bridge the gap for families who might otherwise be forced to surrender a beloved pet. By joining us on the green,golfers are directly supporting efforts to reduce pet homelessness and suffering.”
The tournament will follow a scramble format, with check-in beginning at 9 a.m. and a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Both individual golfers and foursomes are welcome. Early registration is encouraged due to limited spots.Those interested can register at www.secondchanceanimals.org/events/golf.
