San Jose firefighters responded to a vegetation fire Sunday afternoon near Communications hill, according to the San jose Fire Department.The two-acre blaze, which started near Kurte Park, was reported at 4:21 p.m.
Authorities initially classified the incident as a Tier 1 fire. However, challenging access prompted an upgrade to Tier 2 at 4:55 p.m.
Firefighters stopped the forward progress of the flames at 5:10 p.m. Authorities had asked people to avoid the area, as the fire affected traffic.
