Composed of 352 members of Roh Tae-woo’s funeral committee… Paju Geomdansa Enchi

The government announced on the 28th that it had completed the formation of the National Funeral Committee for the late former President Roh Tae-woo. The funeral will be held on the morning of the 30th at the Olympic Park Peace Plaza in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

According to the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the funeral committee is composed of 352 members in consideration of the COVID-19 quarantine situation. High-ranking public officials in the legislative, judicial, and administrative departments, heads of local governments, broadcasting media, and persons recommended by bereaved families were included.

The funeral was chaired by Prime Minister Kim Bu-gyeom. The advisory group consisted of 36 people, including the 5th division, representatives of political parties, and representatives of religious groups. There are a total of six vice-chairmen, including two vice-chairmen of the National Assembly, acting chief of the Board of Audit and Inspection, and recommended by the mayor of Daegu and the bereaved family.

The Executive Committee is chaired by the Minister of Public Administration and Security Jeon Hae-cheol, and the Executive Committee is composed of Hong Nam-ki, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance, Minister of Foreign Affairs Chung Eui-yong, Minister of National Defense Seo Wook, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hwang Hee, and Commissioner of the National Police Agency. The remaining 303 funeral members are 174 people recommended by the government and 129 people recommended by bereaved families.

The funeral ceremony for former President Roh will be held at the Olympic Park Peace Plaza in Seoul on the 30th at 11 am. After the funeral, the remains will be placed at Geomdansa Temple in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
