Concord Cut Short: Devs Left Reeling as Ambitious Game Meets Abrupt 14-Day Demise
Concord Game Discontinued: Developers Express Regret
Concord, the highly anticipated first-person shooter developed by Firewalk Studios, has been discontinued just two weeks after its release on PlayStation 5 and PC. The game’s poor sales and low player count fell short of Sony’s expectations, leading to its sudden closure.
David Reyes, a Concord animator, shared a photo of the X Platinum trophy he received from the game, which only 0.2% of players will earn. Reyes expressed his gratitude to the team, stating, “The Platinum Trophy is very special to me. Thanks to the team, we achieved something extraordinary.”

Bethany Hulse, community development manager, thanked the community of players for their love and support. ”How can I not say thank you to our community of players? They have always loved and supported us,” Hulse posted on X. “Thank you for being a part of the adventure.”
Adam Alexander, Senior Lighting Artist, expressed his sadness about the game’s closure. “The game is over,” Alexander said. “I’m really sad that the game has to be closed. But I’ve been very fortunate to work with Firewalk over the last 2 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work and learn a lot. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished.”
Jon Weisnewski, Lead Character Designer, shared a video of the game’s final moments.
Concord was in development for 8 years, and its discontinuation has left many wondering if it will return in the future. While there is no official word on the game’s future, some speculate that it may return as a free-to-play game.
