Kovid confirmed 2,259 in the district on Thursday. The confirmation rate is 33.08%. A total of 6828 samples were tested. The disease is transmitted through direct contact to 2179 people. There are 39 cases where the source is not known.
Safety Precautions: Strict control should be maintained

Collector VR Premkumar said the restrictions should be strictly maintained as part of security precautions in view of the increasing number of Kovid victims and test positivity rates in the district. He directed the district police chief to ensure that the government’s proposal to limit participation in weddings, funerals, all social, political, cultural and community events, religious ceremonies and gatherings at places of worship to 50 is complied with. Meetings, events and ceremonies should be conducted online only in government, quasi-government, co-operative, public sector and self-governing institutions.
