‘Construction equipment’ hitting telephone poles and flooding residential area power outages

This is not the only damage caused by the late heavy rains.

Last night at a riverside construction site in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do, heavy rain has weakened the ground, causing construction equipment to fall and power outages throughout the area.

Last night on a road in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do.

The lights flash twice, and the buildings are immediately engulfed in darkness.

Two nearby telephone poles were damaged when construction equipment driving a 10-metre high pile used for the construction of river widening, known as a ‘pile’, lost its balance and collapsed.

“(Construction equipment) fell and pulled the wires, causing a power outage…”

There were no injuries, but the accident cut power to around 700 flats and was restored within four hours.

Police and fire authorities believe the construction equipment fell as the ground weakened due to more than 50mm of rain over the past two days.

During the construction process, soil accumulated in some sections blocked the flow of rainwater, and approximately 10 nearby houses were flooded.

A coast guard rescue boat reaches the scene of the accident through high waves.

At 8 am today, there was a report that a recreational boat was sinking off the coast of Samcheok, Gangwon-do.

The Coast Guard, which was sent to the scene, came to the crashed ship, which was more than half submerged in sea water, and rescued two passengers safely.

At around 4:30 pm today, a fire broke out at a packaging container manufacturer in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do.

The fire burned three out of four factories with an area of ​​1,400 square meters, but it was found that there were no injuries.
