Consumer prices for public baths, jjimjilbangs, and PC rooms rise all at once due to rising fuel costs

  • Last month, it was found that the rate of increase in consumer prices for bath fees had recorded the highest in 14 years since the global financial crisis.

    According to data from the National Statistical Office, the consumer price index for bath fees last month was 123.59, up 14.1% from the same month last year.

    This is the highest level in 14 years and 5 months since December 2008, during the global financial crisis.

    The inflation rate of jjimjilbang usage fees last month was 12.4%, the third highest on record.

    In addition, the inflation rate for PC room usage fees was 6.1%, the highest in 4 years and 6 months since November 2018.

    These are small businesses that face fuel costs such as electricity and gas.
