Consumer Reports is calling for a recall of Millie Moon diapers following severe injuries reported nationwide, including the case of a two-year-old boy treated for burns at Riley Hospital for Children, fox59.com reported. Travis Marker spent four days in the hospital burn clinic after his parents put him in a Millie Moon diaper for the first-and only-time last Saturday.
Hospitalization and Treatment at Riley Hospital for Children
The two-year-old boy was treated for burns to his buttocks and near his genitals. His treatment involved multiple warm baths to scrub off dead, burnt skin, a process that required administering fentanyl and oxycodone to manage the intense pain.
Logan Marker described watching the medical procedure as horrific.
The family’s home has since been converted into a temporary pharmacy stocked with gauze, ointments, anti-itching medication, and oxycodone painkillers that must be administered every six hours.
Consumer Advocacy Call and Parental Warnings
The family supports the recent push by Consumer Reports to pull the brand’s diapers from store shelves. Quinton Marker emphasized the severity of the child’s injuries, noting that medical intervention required strong opioids typically reserved for severe trauma.
In my mind, a 2-year-old boy is getting fentanyl for what people want to say is just a rash. It’s not a rash. I would be doing an injustice to not warn other mothers about this. If you love Millie Moon awesome, use it; that’s your choice. But if I did not say something and this happened to another baby, I would not be able to live with myself.

Upcoming Medical Evaluations and Manufacturer Response
Doctors are scheduled to examine the toddler to determine whether he requires surgery, which could involve skin grafts harvested from his thighs. On Monday, October 19, Millie Moon acknowledged the outreach from fox59.com but has yet to provide a statement.
