(CNN) Former US President Donald Trump is officially selling a special edition of the Bible aimed at patriots. He announced the sale on his social media in time for the week before Easter.

The price of the Bible is $59.99 (about 9,100 yen). The cover features an American flag and the words “God Bless the USA” printed on it. The interior also includes text from historic American documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Pledge of Allegiance.

Trump and country singer Lee Greenwood also appear in the promotional materials. He is known for his song called “God Bless the USA.”

Among the responses to Mr. Trump from the Bible was “blasphemy,” “heresy,” and “infinitely offensive.” Some referred to Bible lessons directly and suggested that exploiting people’s faith to make money should be condemned.

A South Carolina clergyman, Jason Cornwall, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Trump’s promotion of the Bible violates one of the Ten Commandments of Moses, which prohibits taking God’s name in vain. He accused him of doing so.

Meanwhile, Mr. Trump, who has secured the Republican nomination for the presidential election in November, is currently facing multiple lawsuits. This particular edition of the Bible is also being sold at a time when large sums of money could be lost in connection with the legal proceedings.

The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page posted on the Bible’s website clearly states that any proceeds from the sale of the Bible will not be used for presidential campaign activities. However, there is no mention of whether even a portion of the money could be used to cover Trump’s personal legal costs.

CNN has contacted the marketing company that sold the Bible for more information.
